Bekah Simon

Naturalist Bekah Simon covers a topic that some people love and some people dread, that four letter 'S' word - snow. Focusing on the conditions for snow to develop and snowflakes, Bekah goes into the science of snow. Weather is deeply tied to folklore around the world, and a few stories are told in the second half of the episode.

Special thanks to Billie Jo, daughter of Crystalina Peterson, for being my first guest on the show! Crystalina is also known as the Witchy Historian and is the host and producer of The Witchy Historian podcast. You can find her podcast here: https://thewitchyhistorian.podbean.com/

**Note on bird calls: I incorrectly identified a bird call! Oops! The bird that was making sounds like "peter-peter-peter-peter" is a Tufted Titmouse, not a cardinal. Though there was a cardinal nearby, the loud call that can be heard in the section talking about graupel is a tufted titmouse. Sorry for the misidentification!
